Synopsis...
After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, WALL-E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL-E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet's future, and races back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home). Meanwhile, WALL-E chases EVE across the galaxy and sets into motion one of the most exciting and imaginative comedy adventures ever brought to the big screen. Joining WALL-E on his fantastic journey across a universe of never-before-imagined visions of the future, is a hilarious cast of characters including a pet cockroach, and a heroic team of malfunctioning misfit robots.    hide

WALL-E is one of the most thought provoking movies of the year. The horrible critics are probably the same critics that hailed movies like "Iron Man" or "Batman: The Dark Knight" where the thinking is done for you. Now that was pure American propaganda. This movie takes a look at human flaws and the creators some how made it funny! That alone should be applauded. The people that say you should not look at the message are the people who cannot look at truth. The machine has more heart than humans. Humans do not communicate with each other, and they are fat. Lets see- with the increase use of the internet to date for us, cell phones which bridge us from visiting people and the growing consumtion of devices that break communication between humans- the message is something to think about. The humans are dumb, which thanks to No Child Let Behind, is becoming a reality. Global Warming, Wal-Mart, and trashing our world is also issues shown through this movie. Movies started out silent. The movie takes us back to our roots. If you cannot appreciate the fine things in this movie, perhaps you, yourself, have been absorbed in American propaganda.

This was a truly cool flick. I didn't focus on what other reviewers saw a depressive and bleak (maybe that's just their hindsight kicking in after having had time to reflect on the film) but instead simply enjoy the curious, cute, playful and very lovesick ways of Wall-E. First and foremost, this is a story about finding love. Althought kids in the theaters were laughing and having fun, the lack of consistent dialogue or silly gags had them bored here and there, and becoming restless. For me, as an adult, I enjoyed it from start to finish and didn't see anything boring about it at all. Top-notch animation with a huge heart. I admit I was teary-eyed many times during this film (and not because of the Earth's conditon) due to the romance. And to think I almost didn't see this because I felt the running time was too short, so it wasn't worth the money. Saw it and El Capitan, and what a magnificent experience. The pre-show with dancers, and Disney characters running around and the special effects, etc, must have lasted at least 15 minutes. Go see it VERY soon at El Capitan, if you can, because I think the last showing is next Saturday.

We do not usually like alot of dialogue in a movie so this one was perfect. A simple but engrossing story. Unique. Endearing. And worth seeing.

Andrew Stanton creates a horrific vision of a wrecked future Earth, and his animators built a world that is beautiful only in its ugliness: covered with the waste humans consume -- everything from fast-food wrappers to old cars and abandoned shopping malls; a weak sun just barely breaks through an endless cloud; you can practically taste a metallic smell in the air. It's a classic science fiction dystopia, rendered so realistically that it's almost impossible to believe all of this is computer animation... and yet the heartbreak of it -- it made me cry, it's such a poignant representation of human senselessness -- is constantly warring with Wall-E's joy, for he doesn't realize that he's in a dystopia. He's alone, but he's not unhappy.

Very, very slow in the beginning w/ cheesy music and a lot of wandering around. It picks up once you go into the ship and see people. Very realistic w/ fat slobs everywhere being catered to and the Earth is a dump. They were better off staying on the ship in my opinion. Cute movie though and a must see.

You'd think Pixar would at some point make a movie that doesn't live up to it's others, but that's still not the case with Wall-E. This movie was excellent. On top of having all the funny moments you'd expect from a Pixar film, it also has some mildly intellectual views. Go see this movie if you haven't, it definitely caters to a vast majority of tastes.

OK, my Grandson was over for the week and he chose this. Oh the things we do for our kids, I thought. But you know what I got into it and the time was not wasted. GO SEE IT if you have not. The time we spent "priceless" and not wasted I enjoyed it as much as he did.

Wall-E is a very cute movie worthy of the pixar name. Although if you look at it from the human perspective it is a very bleak vision of the future.
